Endless
We have returned safe and sound from our travels and I am grateful. I always enjoy our road trips, but am also glad when we arrive home once again.
Catching up with our friends in Arizona was a pleasure as well as seeing my husband experience a few successful rounds of golf. But, the highlight for me was hiking in Arches National Park. While there, amidst the stupendous beauty of the blue sky and humongous red rock landscape, my heart stirred with gratitude as I was reminded of the immeasurable, incalculable, and inexhaustible goodness of God.
Choose Life
In my early twenties, I was miserable and ready to end my life as my father had. My puny, limited and small minded resources for living had brought me to the end of myself. But, instead of my life coming to an end, I was surprised when God showed up, and invited me to choose life, one very different from the one I was presently living.
Though I didn’t know a whole lot about God at the time, I was ready to accept his invitation to live a different life from the one I was trying to manufacture for myself. Consequently, with a minuscule amount of faith, I believed that God’s offer was far better than the plan I had for myself and I accepted his invitation to life. Ever since then, I’ve been discovering the extensive, boundless and limitlessness of God on a daily basis.
Though I started out my walk of faith with inexperience, naivete, and idealistic thinking, God has not once given up on me. Like a parent who watches over and guides their child, God, my Father, watches over me too.
Over the years I’ve learned that faith is not a stagnant experience. Rather, faith develops and grows as I develop and grow. Not only that, but I’ve quit trying to perfect my faith and instead, simply live by the faith, knowledge and the insight provided by God for the moments that make up any given day.
Each day I get to believe and experience the breadth, length, depth and height of God’s love for me. Every day I’m given peace that surpasses my understanding and every day I get to remember that absolutely nothing can separate me from God.
Why Bother?
Why bother considering God’s vastness? Without a word, the beauty we see in nature proclaims the vast, immeasurable, limitless, colossal, boundless and invaluable goodness of God.
Can you hear it?
