I Was Pretty Tired of Being Miserablet (1)

Why Bother Considering, God Stays the Same?

God Stays the Same

Today my quote comes from a Fat LiL’ Notebook dated 2009. “The trials may be different, but God is the same.”

Back in 2009, my husband and I were launching our last born son. He’d graduated from high school, decided to head to Portland, live with a friend, and see what happened. Oh My!

A month or so later we went to visit him. He’d landed a job. That was good. But, I won’t go into any other details. I’ll just say I was a little worried about his future.

That was one of my trials back in 2009; not worrying about my last born son’s future. But, instead, trusting in the One who gave him to me in the first place.

Trust is putting our confidence in someone or something because we believe that who or what we’ve chosen to trust will be reliable. Trust is a necessary component to any relationship. A relationship will only last as long as there is trust. When trust is no longer credible, reliable, dependable or certain, the relationship crumbles.

Trust is a common theme in the Bible. And like any other relationship, our relationship with God requires trust.

Since most of us have lived long enough to have experienced a relationship where trust was broken, trusting God can feel like a huge risk; at first. But, getting to know anyone for the first time always feels like a risk.

I started my walk of faith by taking myself out of my own keeping and entrusting myself into God’s keeping before I knew much about God. But, through various trials and tribulations, I’ve gotten to know God more and more.

No matter the difficulty; financial, relational, spiritual, emotional, or physical, I’ve that God is one hundred percent reliable. I know I can rely on Him for comfort, peace, direction or wisdom. How do I know? I know because that’s what I’ve done for the last four decades.

God’s character, purpose, and promises do not evolve, change, or diminish over time. I on the other hand am in the process of growing, learning, and developing.

Why Bother?

Why bother being considering, God stays the same? Knowing that God stays the same gives me stability, strength and sureness while moving forward by faith.

P.S.  I wrote the story of my journey to forgiveness for those who need clarity when it comes to understanding forgiveness. You can find A Heart’s Journey To Forgiveness at Redemption Press and Amazon
